UPESSC, Prayagraj invites online applications for 12,405 Assistant Teacher posts in Urban Primary (11,508) and Associated Primary (897) schools under UP Basic and Secondary Education Departments. The role involves teaching primary classes (1–5), planning lessons, evaluating students, maintaining classroom discipline, and supporting co-curricular activities. Teachers will track student progress, communicate with parents, and implement government education policies. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree, BTC/D.L.Ed or equivalent NCTE-recognized training, and qualify UP TET/CTET. Fluency in Hindi and English with basic computer knowledge is desirable. - ✔Bachelor's degree from a recognized university
- ✔Assistant Teacher, Urban (URBAN) : Government-recognized training qualification: BTC, 2-year BTC (Urdu), Special BTC, 2-year Diploma in Special Education (RCI approved), 4-year B.L.Ed, or 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (as per NCTE Regulations, 2002)
- ✔Assistant Teacher, Urban (URBAN) : Must have passed Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by State Government or Government of India
- ✔Assistant Teacher Associated Primary: B.T.C. or D.L.Ed. degree from NCTE-recognized course and Must have passed Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for Class 01 to 05 conducted by UP Government or Government of India
Exam Pattern & Syllabus Details
- 📌The UPESSC Assistant Teacher Selection Examination 2026 consists of a single written paper comprising 120 objective-type multiple-choice questions worth 360 marks, to be completed in 2 hours. The paper is bilingual (Hindi and English), with +3 marks for each correct answer and a penalty of 1 mark for incorrect or multiple responses
- 📌The subject-wise weightage is as follows: Languages (Hindi, Sanskrit, English) – 30 questions (90 marks); General Knowledge & Current Affairs – 25 questions (75 marks); Mathematics – 16 questions (48 marks); Science – 8 questions (24 marks); Environmental & Social Studies – 8 questions (24 marks); Teaching Skills – 8 questions (24 marks); Child Psychology – 8 questions (24 marks); Life Skills, Management & Aptitude – 8 questions (24 marks); Logical Reasoning – 5 questions (15 marks); Information Technology – 4 questions (12 marks)
